2014 will be a photo-book year for me...That's for sure!
Not that the previous years haven't been! Without realising it, I have kept a diary for more than 23 years, using text and imagery to describe my inner thoughts and feelings. Most of my life has been patiently documented on paper and film.
Now it's time for editing, more images, more texts, more feelings, more creations. And of course books.
By the way, my mum's album from when she lived in Sweden, was my first and everlasting inspiration in bookmaking.
The exciting news is that I have been selected to participate in this amazing photobook masterclass in Ankara, delivered by Markus Schaden and Frederic Lezmi. I will keep you updated. Now I need to book my flights. And then go back to the magic world of pens, paper and film.
Here is more info about the masterclass:
"Photobook MasterClass" will be carried out by Markus Schaden and Frederic Lezmi and consist of workshops in which 8 lens based artists’ previous work is collected in a book in one week. In the wake of the workshop dealing with the figural and notional aspects of the book form, the participant artists will come up with books consisting of their work as well as having the chance to discover the unique possibilities of the book form once and again with the experienced executors’ contribution. The produced books at the end of the workshop will meet the viewers with an exhibition along with a selection from the books awarded by "PhotoBook Awards" of Kassel FotoBook Festival.
