My new project Mnemológia (words/study of memory) will be kindly supported from the Chris Field Fund. This is great news!
I will guide participants from the Greek community to re-visit and re-invent their personal and collective biography through photographs, collages and writing to sequence life stories.
Here is a bit about who this inspiring woman, Chris Field, was:
For thirty years, Chris taught art to adults around Brighton and Hove—at the Connaught Centre, Portslade Community College and the Friends Centre – before her un-timely death in 2008. Two years ago a Fund was set up to honour and continue her work.
The Chris Field Fund supports small-scale learning activities in Brighton and Hove which aim to attract new people into creative arts learning; involve learners from all parts of the city; encourage existing learners to try new and different forms of creative art; and involve creative arts tutors and working artists in the city in sharing ideas and expertise.
The Fund has so far paid for a display wall of learners‘ work within Brighton Junction and, to date, has funded nine projects, some of which have been completed.
